Julia Roberts Debunks Late-to-Work Rumors & Shares Wild Tabloid Stories | WWHL Highlights (2025)

Julia Roberts has faced countless wild rumors throughout her lengthy career in the spotlight, but surprisingly, some of the most absurd ones hit her harder than others. During the October 8 episode of Watch What Happens Live After Show, Roberts opened up about the most unbelievable things she’s heard about herself over the years.

"Tabloid stories are completely outlandish," she said with a laugh. "For instance, I've supposedly dated guys I've never even met. It's funny because I just think, ‘Sounds great!’ But it's totally false."

What shocked Roberts more than being falsely labeled a drug addict was the claim that she's ever been late to work. "I’ve never been late, and that rumor bothered me more than the drug accusations," she explained. "It really clashes with my personal values."

Clarifying her actual relationship with substances, Roberts mentioned she’s not a habitual marijuana user but did try it once with a friend who was very experienced. "I thought it’d be fun, but soon after, I was like, ‘What’s going on?!’ It’s really not for me," she shared. Instead, she prefers simpler drinks like a glass of red wine or a vodka soda when relaxing.

Roberts was actually at the Bravo Clubhouse to celebrate WWHL’s 3,000th episode and promote her new film After the Hunt, co-starring The Bear’s breakout star, Ayo Edebiri. Being a huge fan of Bravo, host Andy Cohen didn’t miss the chance to get her take on the ever-dramatic Real Housewives series.

When discussing Lisa Barlow’s recent attempt to clear her name regarding legal issues tied to her businesses, Roberts joked, "I saw a clip where Lisa brought out a massive poster board presentation to prove her innocence — usually, when someone has to go that far, it makes you wonder if there’s guilt there." On another Real Housewives gossip, Roberts expressed full belief in Julia Lemigova’s claim during The Real Housewives of Miami reunion that she and Adriana de Moura had a romantic encounter. "One hundred percent, yes," Roberts confirmed, adding that Adriana’s reaction to the allegation made it pretty obvious.

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo, with new episodes available for streaming the following day on Peacock.

But here’s where it gets controversial—what does being "late to work" really mean for a high-profile celebrity? Is it a trivial rumor blown out of proportion or a genuine breach of professionalism? And do you think calling out a detailed defense like Lisa Barlow's suggests guilt or shows transparency? Share your thoughts below—do you side with Julia Roberts' skepticism or believe there's more to these reality show dramas?
